Fig Crostini

If you haven’t heard, fig is in. Way in. Menuing of fig jam at independent casual dining Italian and QSR pizzerias has grown significantly over the years. This dish features a heavenly layering of fig jam, Grande Stracciatella and a drizzle of truffle honey.

Fig Crostini Yield: one appetizer
  • 5 Baguette slices, ½-inch thick
  • 3 ¾ oz. Fig jam
  • 5 oz. Grande Stracciatella
  • Truffle honey, to taste
  • 1 sprig Fresh thyme, leaves removed
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Olive oil, as needed

Directions

Fig Crostini
  1. Season each slice of bread with olive oil and place on a sheet pan.
  2. Bake at 450°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until bread is lightly toasted and slightly soft in the middle.
  3. Spread ¾ oz. fig jam over of each slice.
  4. Top fig jam with 1 oz. Grande Stracciatella.
  5. Drizzle with truffle honey, a pinch of sea salt and garnish with thyme leaves.
